Anoxal’s History

Anoxal’s modern recycling unit and foundry offers innovative solutions and technology for new alloys. It casts aluminium billets for high performance applications in the car industry, as well as slabs, contributing to the value chain of aluminium. Anoxal’s facilities are located in Agios Thomas, Viotia, and they include a casting unit and melting, waiting and homogenization furnaces. Anoxal’s products (billets and aluminium slabs) are intended for and serve the needs of ElvalHalcor’s aluminium sector. Αnoxal pursues a constant and responsible development, based on the principles of Sustainable Development, and it focuses on the following axes:

The annual casting capacity amounts to 39,500 tons, aiming at 56,000 tons once our investment program is completed, while the aluminium processing and cleaning capacity amounts to 30,000 tons, with a final target of 70,000 tons. The plant covers an area of 10,260 m2, inside a plot with a total area of 61,120 m2.

The plant of Agios Thomas includes two manufacturing branches:

  • Aluminium alloying and casting into slabs (0.62 m thick, up to 2.64 m wide and up to 4.5 m long) and billets (7 to 11 in diameter and up to 6 m long), used to manufacture rolling and extrusion products.
  • Secondary aluminium processing (e.g. profile scrap, UBC, etc.) including fragmenting, removing iron, dust and the organic load, and compressing the clean material into balls with a rectangular cross-section. The balls are sent to special furnaces to be melted and to produce new products with a high percentage of recycled metal.
